DNS lookup and propagation check

Enter a domain to see all its DNS records. We ask Cloudflare and Google at the same time, so you also see whether a recent change has spread.

FreeNo sign-up · nothing stored

Example: example.com or mail.example.com. Records are fetched fresh from Cloudflare (1.1.1.1) and Google (8.8.8.8).

What each DNS record does

  • A / AAAA point the domain to an IPv4 / IPv6 address, for example your VPS.
  • CNAME makes a name an alias of another name.
  • MX tells other servers where to deliver email for the domain.
  • NS shows which DNS servers are authoritative for the domain.
  • TXT holds verification codes and email security records such as SPF, DKIM and DMARC.
  • CAA limits which certificate authorities may issue SSL certificates.

See DNS record types explained for examples.

Why Cloudflare and Google can show different answers

Resolvers keep answers in their cache until the TTL runs out. Right after you change a record, one resolver may already see the new value while another still serves the old one. A “Different” badge usually means the change is still spreading; it settles within the TTL shown. More in how long DNS propagation takes and how to point a domain to a VPS.

Frequently asked questions

Why does my new record not show up?
If NS records point to another provider, changes must be made there. Otherwise wait for the TTL of the old record to expire.
Is the lookup cached?
No. Every lookup asks Cloudflare and Google directly over DNS-over-HTTPS and shows their current answer.
Can I check email records?
Yes. Choose MX to see mail servers and TXT to see SPF, DKIM and DMARC records.
